Dr. Kim Taylor, Producer/Director

 

Kim Taylor comes from England and is a long-time observer and researcher of Chinese history and culture. She has lived more than eight years in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing. She has travelled the length and breadth of the country and is fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin Chinese. In 2006, together with a Chinese partner, Kim set up Kaimu Productions in Shanghai, China with the ultimate aim of producing serious and factual content for both Chinese and foreign broadcasters. Kaimu Productions now produces regular monthly content for Shanghai Television's International Channel with an audience rating of between 100,000 - 500,000 people. Her observational documentary, 'Shanghai Quest', about three young, foreign entrepreneurs' dreams of success in China, won the Audience Choice Award at the Roving Eye Documentary Film Festival, part of the Rhode Island International Film Festival, in May 2008. Kim regularly acts as producer/director for foreign productions who do not wish to send a crew to China. Previous clients include Live Earth Organisation, Diebold Services and Mori Building Co. Ltd.

Jasmin Gu, Producer/Fixer

 

Jasmin Gu comes from Shanghai and has been working as producer/fixer on Kaimu projects since 2015. She has travelled across China covering different political, social and economic topics for our international media clients, including some of the world's largest bridges, China's most pristine natural wonders and world famous movie stars. Previously, Jasmin worked for eight years as local producer in the BBC Beijing and Shanghai offices and before that was a news assistant at Boston Globe's Shanghai bureau. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Shanghai international studies university. Travelling is her passion. She loves the challenges of shoots and introducing different aspects of China to a global audience.

Judi K. Stewart, Associate Producer

 

Judi K. Stewart is skilled in pre-production, writing and research. She independently produced Indian Summer, a Bollywood style short set in Cape Town, Grind your Mind which won Best Short Film at International Images Film Festival for Women and a documentary, The Voice of Mbira Music, which won the Special Jury Prize at Zimbabwe International Film Festival. She has worked on arranging various documentary projects with Kaimu Productions for Chinese media filming abroad since 2011, assisting mainly with the meticulous pre-production work necessary to get such big projects off the ground. These projects include a film about Sea Shepherd's conservation efforts to stop whaling for the award winning series Insight, screened on Shanghai TV and DocuTV, and that recorded over 200 million hits online..

Sinclair Lin, IT Manager

 

Hailing from Fujian province, Sinclair studied Software Engineering at Fuzhou Univeristy. Kaimu Productions was his first full-time job where he started working on designing the website. Five years later Sinclair now handles all IT matters and provides invaluable guidance and assistance in resolving the many technical issues that an internet-based business faces. It is thanks to Sinclair that company communications and online presence are problem-free.
